In our work as nonprofit leaders, we often face moments when the mission feels distant, the momentum slows, and the path forward becomes unclear. Like individuals, organizations can get stuck. We lose sight of our North Star.

That’s when we choose: drift further, or turn things around.

Real change doesn’t come from a memo or a speech. It begins with small, intentional steps—and with teamwork.

Start by reminding your team why their work matters. Reconnect them to the mission and vision. Begin each meeting with your North Star. Keep meetings short. Model the values you want to see. Celebrate milestones.

Transformation takes time. But with shared purpose and steady intention, it becomes possible.

As Patrick Lencioni reminds us:

“Not finance. Not strategy. Not technology. It is teamwork that remains the ultimate competitive advantage—because it is so powerful, and so rare.”

Keep building your team that focuses on the mission, embody its values, and moves our community forward—one step at a time.
